Home Made Bread /Dinner Rolls

I love to prepare everything at home. After couple of failures, I have baked dinner rolls/bread successfully today !!  Key learning here is quantity of flour may vary depending on the flour we use. We really needn't stick to the exact quantity mentioned in the recipe. We should make sure that dough is super super super soft and it doesn't stick to our hand.

You can serve these hot bread  along with any side dish. As I am vegetarian I served with potato and bell pepper gravy. Try the recipe and let me know your feed back :-)





Ingredients:

1/4 tsp salt
2-3 tsp butter , softened
1 tsp sugar
1/4 cup warm water
1/4 cup warm milk
1 to 1 1/2 cup all purpose flour
3.5 gms  (1/2 tsp) of dry yeast ( I used half packet )


How To Prepare?
  • Mix yeast and warm water in a bowl and keep it aside for 5 mins. -->bowl (#1) [Do not use hot water/cold water.In cold water yeast will not wake up. In hot water yeast will die :-(]
                                 
  • Mix warm milk, butter and sugar in another bowl and keep it aside. -->bowl(#2)
  • Add flour and salt into a  large mixing bowl and mix it well . Now add prepared mixture [bowl(#1) & (#2)] to it .Mix it nicely to form a soft dough.

  • Knead the dough well for about 5-7 mins.
  • Take a dry big size bowl and grease with butter. Transfer the dough into it and cover with damp cloth. Keep this in a warm place for about 60 mins.
  • After 60 mins, look at this ... it has become almost double !!!
  • Punch it and mix it well again and prepare the bread rolls .You can go with any shape.
  • Place these bread rolls on a baking tray /sheet and let it rest for about 20 -30 mins.
  • Give a butter wash before you place them in the oven.
  • Bake it @ 220 degree C for about 25-30 mins or till it becomes golden brown.
  • After you remove from the oven, give a butter wash on top.

  • Serve hot with any side dish. Enjoy :-)
