Bread Paneer Rolls ( Bread Rolls Stuffed with Indian Cheese)

This is an easy and quick snack. In this recipe, grated paneer(Indian cheese) will be spiced with few of the typical Indian spices(cumin, black pepper etc) and filled inside the bread. These bread rolls are later shallow fried. Sounds simple Isn't it?
These crispy bread rolls are very tasty though they are not deep fried.
Serve these delicious bread rolls hot/at room temperature along with Tea. You can include this as a n appetizer in a party menu too.

Try it at home and please let me know your comments.

Ingredients:
6 slices - soft white bread

For Stuffing
4-5 tbsp grated paneer/Indian cheese
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)/jeera powder
Pinch of black pepper ( you can increase if you like the hotness of black pepper)
1 teaspoon ginger , finely grated
1 tablespoons coriander leaves , finely chopped
1-2 teaspoon finely chopped green chili, adjust according to your taste ( you can remove the seeds if it is very hot and you don't want to byte it :-))
1-2 tablespoons hot milk, (if required)
1/4 tsp of lemon juice (optional as in the original recipe its not mentioned. I did not use milk , so added lemon juice)

For Shallow Fry
2 tablespoons butter

How To Prepare ?
  • In a mixing bowl , mix all the ingredients mentioned under "For Stuffing", except milk. If the mixture is not soft enough add little milk and mix well again. Make sure the mixture is soft enough to spread on a bread.

  • Trim the edges of the bread slices.Roll the bread very thin using rolling pin
  • Roll the bread very thin using rolling pin. Spread one tbsp(or 3/4 th tbsp) of the mix over 3/4 the of the bread slice, and roll it carefully  into a cylinder/Roll . Seal the edges properly by brushing the edges with little water. You can trim the sides of the rolls too if you want the rolls in a perfect shape.

  • Using a brush , butter all around the roll.  Or quickly dip only the outer part of the roll in a butter and take it out.( you have to be very quick if you are dipping it in butter, else all of your butter will be absorbed by single roll !!!!!!!)
  • Heat a Tava/pan,  Place the rolls on the pan. Keeping the flame in medium , shallow fry the rolls by turning them continuously.Make sure rolls are evenly browned all around.

  • Serve them hot or at room temperature along with tomato ketchup.
