Jatpat Majjige Huli/Quick Yogurt Curry

Today I will share quick and tasty yogurt curry recipe. Very simple ... only four steps to be followed and you are done.I find this recipe very useful whenever I have unexpected guests or to make the lunch box little interesting :-) . You can pack this yogurt curry instead of plain curd.!! This can be served along with rice/idly too.

This is easiest version of my earlier post Zucchini Majjige Huli
Please try it at home and let me know whether you liked it or not  ? :-)

Serves 2

Ingredients:
plain curd/yogurt- 200 to 300 ml
salt to taste
green chilly 1
raw white rice - 2 tsp
fresh grated coconut/ coconut flakes - 4 tbsp

For Seasoning:
coconut oil - 1 tsp
1/4 tsp fenugreek seeds/methi
8-10 curry leaves

How To Prepare?

  • Boil 100 ml of water in a cooking vessel.
  • Meanwhile whisk yogurt along with 2-3 tbsp of water and keep it ready.
  • Grind raw rice, coconut flakes and green chilly together into a smooth paste using little water.
  • Add ground paste, yogurt and salt into a boiling water. Give a quick stir.Bring it to boil and switch off the flame.Don't let it boil for more than 30 SECS.
  • Prepare the seasoning in separate pan using the ingredients mentioned under "For Seasoning" . Now add the seasoning on top the yogurt curry followed by quick stir.!!
You are done ...Isn't it easy ???

Note/Tips:
  • You can grind the yogurt along with coconut and other ingredients if you are using thin yogurt(yogurt which has less fat). But remember If you are using fatty/thick yogurt then, sometimes you will get butter when you grind it !!!!!.So to be on the safer side don't grind it .You can whisk thick yogurt for a minute by adding little water to it before you add it to curry.
Thanks so much for going through my recipe.Kindly get back to me with your comments. .Please do share it with your friends and family if you like the recipe :-)
