Tomato Tambli/Mosaru Gojju /Yogurt Coconut Gravy

This is very simple recipe which can be prepared very fast. I and my brother used to love this in our childhood :-)

Ingredients :
2 medium size tomatoes chopped finely
2-3 tablespoon grated coconut/coconut flakes
4-5 tablespoon yogurt
salt
1/2 green chilly chopped into halves
2 teaspoon cooking oil
1 teaspoon urad dal
1 dry red chilly chopped into halves (optional , if the green chilly is too hot , you can avoid this ...again it depends on your level of spiciness !!)
1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
7-8 curry leaves
1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves (optional)

How To Prepare?
  • First prepare the coconut-yogurt gravy . Grind coconut and yogurt together and keep it aside. (Add little water if it becomes too thick while grinding )
  • Transfer tomatoes, green chilly , salt and ground coconut-yogurt gravy into a mixing bowl and mix well and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a seasoning pan and add urad dal,red chilly and mustard seeds. After mustard seeds pops out add curry leaves and switch off the flame. Add this seasoning on top along with coriander leaves and mix well again .
  • This goes well with Rice. Serve with Shandage Munanchi/ majjige Menasu/Sun dried buttermilk chillies and enjoy.
